Which bait?
Two or three: maggots, worms, bloodworm or paste. Fish change their taste through the day and the second bait saves the trip.
How many floats?
Three or four of different capacity: heavier for wind and flow, lighter for calm water.
Groundbait?
Yes: without it peaceful fish won't hold on the spot. A handful every half hour beats a bucket at the start.
