Which lamp?
A headlamp with a red mode: red doesn't blind you or spook fish in the shallows. Spare batteries in your pocket, not the car.
Do I need a bite alarm?
One rod — a bell will do. Two or more — electronic, or you'll miss the take.
How not to freeze in summer?
Nights by the water are much colder than the day. Fleece and a windbreaker even in July.
