Река Таруса протянулась почти на сто километров по Калужской области и впадает в могучую Оку, входящую в бассейн Волги. Она течёт недалеко от города Таруса — всего три сотни метров отделяют город от берега. Река не слишком крупная, но её длина и связь с большими водными артериями придают ей особый характер. Таруса — классика средней полосы, которую приятно изучать и наблюдать в разных участках, от городской черты до более уединённых мест.
Рыбалка на Тарусе разнообразна по видам и настроению. Здесь можно встретить щуку и сома, которые любят охотиться в более глубоких местах, а также язя и плотву, предпочитающих активную кормёжку. На мелководье не прочь показаться уклейка с ёршом, а налим — настоящий ночной охотник этой реки. Жерех, как всегда, приносит азарт охоты на хищника с поверхности воды. В общем, Таруса — место, где можно поиграть с разными снастями и насладиться сменой рыбацких задач.
