Река протекает совсем рядом с Ельцом, всего в полукилометре, что удобно для быстрой вылазки на рыбалку. Ее размеры и близость к городу делают Быструю Сосну заметной среди местных рек. Воды текут бодро, что и подсказало название, и создают много интересных мест для ловли.
