Илим — река длиной чуть более 30 километров в Пензенской области, протекает практически у самого Неверкино. По своим размерам и близости к городу она отлично подходит для тех, кто хочет быстро выбраться на рыбалку без долгих переездов. Река обладает спокойным характером, что не мешает ей сохранять интерес для любителей разных видов рыб. Вода здесь достаточно разнообразна по обитателям, и течение не слишком стремительное.
В Илиме можно рассчитывать на щуку и жереха — самых активных хищников, которые любят держаться у береговой растительности и русловых свалов. Кроме того, в реке водится сом и налим — представители донной фауны, предпочитающие более глубокие и укромные места. Среди мирных рыб встречаются язь, плотва, уклейка и ёрш, так что выбор насадок и приманок можно варьировать в зависимости от настроения и времени суток.
