Мёртвый Донец — река длиной больше 36 километров в Ростовской области, впадающая в Таганрогский залив. Она протекает поблизости от крупных городов: всего в нескольких километрах от Чалтыря, Ростова-на-Дону и Батайска, что делает её относительно доступной для выезда на рыбалку. Этот участок привлекает своим размером и близостью к городской черте, позволяя совместить городскую суету с природой. На Мёртвом Донце рыбаки встречают разнообразие: от осторожной уклейки и плотвы до бойкой щуки и мощного сома. Жерех и язь добавляют к рыбалке динамики — они активны и ловки. Налим здесь тоже водится, особенно в более прохладных периодах. Рыбалка довольно разноплановая, с возможностью поохотиться как на хищников, так и на мирных обитателей реки.
