Сам факт, что это именно протока с озерным статусом, создаёт интересный микроклимат и разнообразие водных обитателей.
Здесь водится широкий набор рыбы — от осторожной уклейки и плоти до более серьёзных хищников, таких как щука и сом. Есть и налим, который обычно нечасто попадается на обычных озёрах области. Жерех и язь добавляют динамики ловле, так что рыбалка может быть разной — от спокойной охоты на стайную мелочь до охоты на хищника. В общем, место с разноплановым уловом для тех, кто любит и пассивный, и активный клев.
