Вокруг нет крупных городов, ближайшие населённые пункты — Уварово и Мучкапский — находятся примерно в 15–20 километрах, что добавляет уединённости и спокойствия. Эта река привлекает своей протяжённостью и разнообразием водной жизни, позволяя прочувствовать настоящую природу средней полосы России.
В Большой Алабушке рыбалка разнообразна: здесь можно встретить щуку — самого агрессивного хищника, а также налима и сома, которые добавляют глубины ночным уловам.
