Река Кариан протянулась на 43 километра по Тамбовской области, протекая совсем близко от поселка Знаменка и недалеко от Котовска. Она не слишком длинная, но достаточно весомая, чтобы привлечь внимание рыболовов, которые ценят реки средней величины. Удобное расположение и умеренный масштаб создают хорошую возможность для выезда на рыбалку без долгих переездов.
В Кариане водится классический набор речной рыбы, среди которой есть и хищники — щука и сом, и мирная рыба вроде плотвы, уклейки и язя. Жерех добавляет динамики в ловлю, а налим и ёрш — дополнительные варианты для экспериментов с наживкой. Рыбалка здесь разноплановая: можно попытаться поймать активного хищника или насладиться ловлей стайных видов, что хорошо для разнообразия снастей и тактик.
