Река Шукша в Пензенской области протянулась почти на 82 километра, обрамляя пространство недалеко от Лунино, всего в полукилометре от её берегов. В её русле спокойно отражается жизнь нескольких небольших городков — Мокшан и Бессоновка расположились в пределах двадцати километров. Размер реки уютный, но достаточно протяжённый, чтобы почувствовать свободу рыболовного похода и смену пейзажей.
Здесь ловить можно и активного жереха, и осторожного язя, и привычную для речной воды плотву с уклейкой. Щука, типичный хищник, подкарауливает добычу в затишках, налим предпочитает более глубокие участки. Встречается и сом, который добавляет азарту охоте на крупного соперника. Ёрш, хоть и мелочь, отлично разнообразит улов. Рыбалка на Шукше живописна и разнопланова, нравится тем, кто любит и пассивные, и динамичные моменты у воды.
