Река Аткара протяжённостью почти 102 километра течёт по Саратовской области и впадает в Медведицу, которая входит в бассейн Дона. Она сравнительно близко к городу Аткарск — всего шесть сотен метров, так что добраться сюда просто. Аткара не слишком широкая, но её длина позволяет прочувствовать настоящую речную атмосферу и насладиться природой в области с богатой историей.
Рыбалка на Аткаре разнообразна — здесь водится и хищник, и мирная рыба. Щука и сом дают возможность поохотиться за крупным хищником, а язь и жерех отлично подходят для активного спортивного лова. Плотва, уклейка и ерш добавляют разнообразия, позволяя менять тактику по ситуации. Налим встречается здесь реже, но его наличие гарантирует, что рыбалка не станет однообразной.
